Maven 2 repository index simplifies search in the Maven repositories. You can start it by clicking on this link. Its main functions are

Search artifacts by their name

Search artifacts by their MD5

It can radically simplify transition from Ant to Maven 2. You can easily select all JARs from your project library and m2-repoindex will try to find corresponding artifacts in the repository.

Known issues are:

• Suboptimal repository index format. Repository index is stored in XML format and its size was not optimized. Nevertheless whole aplication has around 500KB so it is not big issue for now.
• Only central repository is currently indexed. Other repositories can be added. I welcome any ideas.
• Update of the index is semiautomatic (I have to start it manually). There is a danger, that it will become obsolete.
• There are some issues with automatic update of the application
